Zhixia HE, female, Ph.D., professor and vice director of the institute for energy research of jiangsu university, China. She received her Ph.D. degree in Power Machinery and Engineering from Jiangsu university in 2004 and then began to work there as a lecturer. From 2007 to 2008, she performed her postdoc research at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology,Germany. In 2012, she worked at University of Illinois at Chicago, USA as a visiting scholar and then she was promoted as professor of Jiangsu university in 2013. From 2016 to 2017, she worked at Argonne National Laboratory, USA as a visiting research scholar. Prof. HE’s research interests mainly focus on cavitating two-phase flow and spray of fuel injection systems, optical diagnostics of spray, combustion and soot and hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) of biomass for biofuel. In above research fields, she has published more than 100 papers with about 85 SCI/EI indexed papers and 2 books. She has also achieved 20 invention patents of China.Prof. HE has been selected as cultivation candidate by “Six Talent Peaks” and “333 Talent Project” of Jiangsu Province. Till now, she has received 7 provincial-level or ministerial-level science and technology awards including the Second Prize for Advancement in Science & Technology Awarded by Department of Science and Technology in Jiangsu province with the topic of “Production of Second-Generation Biodiesel Fuel and Its Applications in Diesel Engines” in 2017.
