Platform and team introduction
School of Mechanical Engineering (SME) of Jiangsu University has two provincial key laboratories which are “Photon Manufacturing Science and Technology” and “Material Tribology”. In addition, SME has a key lab of China Machinery Industry Federation - “Laser Shock Processing Technology” and more than 20 other research centers. The discipline of Mechanical Engineering is preponderate discipline of Jiangsu Province and cultivating national first level key discipline. In 2017, the discipline of Mechanical Engineering ranked 20 in the discipline evaluation held by the Ministry of Education, and ranked 25 "Best Disciplines Ranking in China".
Professor ZHOU's research team currently has 6 professors, 10 associate professors and young teachers, and more than 60 doctoral and master's students.The team has been devoted to the research of high-power short-pulse laser peening technology, multi-energy field composite laser additive manufacturing and surface engineering, ultra-fast laser precision processing, flexible automatic processing and intelligent manufacturing equipment system. The research team has obtained a series of innovative achievements in recent years.
Introduction of Prof. ZHOU
Dr.Jianzhong ZHOU, Dean of school of mechanical engineering in Jiangsu university, Head of advanced manufacturing and modern equipment technology engineering research institute, director of laser technology research institute, director of key laboratory of laser shock wave processing technology of mechanical industry, director of key laboratory of photonic manufacturing science and technology of Jiangsu province. Prof. ZHOU has been selected as cultivation candidate by "Cyan Engineering" academic leader (2008) and "Six Talent Peaks" (2009) of Jiangsu province. Dr. ZHOU was a senior visiting scholar of Konstanz University of Applied Science and Technology(2005.03-2005.09), University of Maryland (2012.07-2012.08) and University of Nebraska-Linclon (2016.09-2016.12).
Prof. ZHOU has undertaken more than 30 national or provincial level research projects, including National Natural Science Fund, National "863" Plan Project as well as National Science and Technology Innovation Fund etc. He is now taking 10 projects including National Natural Science Foundation, National Major Special Projects, Key Research and Development Plan of Jiangsu Province etc. He has published more than 260 SCI/EI papers and 4 books. He has applied for 4 international PTC patents and has achieved over 60 invention patents of China. He has won the Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Jiangsu Province, the Second Prize of Technology Invention of Ministry of Education, the Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Shanxi Province, the Second Prize and the Third Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Machinery Industry etc. He has also guided students to obtain 1 special prize of Hiwin Excellent Mechanical Doctoral Dissertation, 2 Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of Jiangsu Province, and 4 Excellent Master's Thesis of Jiangsu province.
Job responsibilities
➢Perform research independently in one of the following fields: laser processing technology and application based on heat/force effect, multi-energy field composite laser additive manufacturing and surface engineering, flexible automatic processing and intelligent manufacturing equipment system
➢Apply for Research Fund for International Young Scientists from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), China Postdoctoral Science Foundation and Postdoctoral Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province.
➢Publish at least 4 papers indexed by SCI (Q1or Q2)
➢Assisted in cultivation of graduate students
Application requirements
➢ Having Mechanical Engineering, Materials Sciences or Mechanics background
➢Those who having laser processing or advanced manufacturing research experience are more preferred
➢Having a doctoral degree (or a doctoral candidate) with age below 35 and having good English communication skills
Life Guarantee
➢Basic salary: RMB 280,000 Yuan/year before tax for those who get PhD. degree awarded by universities ranked in world Top 300 or RMB 180,000 Yuan/year before tax for those who get PhD. degree awarded by universities ranked out of world Top 300
➢Post-doctoral apartment can be provided for full-time post-doctors by university, or a monthly RMB 700 Yuan rent allowance
➢Other preferential treatments in “Post-doctoral Management Stipulations of China”.
➢Provide world class research facilities and give training chances in other universities or research institutes
